Yard, Stores & Distribution Manager

On behalf of our client we’re looking for a Yard, Stores & Distribution Manager to lead and manage all yard, warehouse (stores), and distribution operations, ensuring efficient inventory management, safe material handling, and timely distribution of finished goods while maintaining high standards of operational efficiency, compliance, and customer service.
Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and oversee daily yard, warehouse, and distribution operations.
- Ensure accurate receipt, storage, handling, and dispatch of raw materials and finished goods.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels and ensure inventory accuracy through regular stock counts and reconciliations.
- Develop and implement inventory control procedures to minimize losses, damages, and stock variances.
- Coordinate transportation and delivery schedules to ensure on-time customer deliveries.
- Monitor warehouse space utilization and optimize storage capacity.
- Lead, supervise, coach, and evaluate warehouse, yard, and distribution staff.
- Investigate inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor operational KPIs, prepare management reports, and recommend continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with Procurement, Production, Sales, Finance, and Logistics teams to ensure seamless supply chain operations.
- Manage departmental budgets and control operational costs.
- Drive process improvements to increase efficiency, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Procurement, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5–8 years of progressive experience in warehouse, stores, logistics, or distribution operations.
- At least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory role within the FMCG industry.
- Experience managing large warehouses, inventory systems, and distribution
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
